Medical & Health Disclaimer

Last updated: 30 July 2026  •  Official Mind Profile

Important: The assessments on Official Mind Profile are self-report tools designed for educational and self-discovery purposes only. They do not constitute a clinical diagnosis, medical advice, or a substitute for professional mental health care. If you have concerns about your mental health or wellbeing, please speak to a qualified healthcare professional.

1. Not a Medical Service

Official Mind Profile is an online self-assessment platform. We are not a medical provider, mental health clinic, psychological practice or healthcare service. Nothing on this website should be interpreted as medical, psychiatric or psychological advice.

Our assessments are based on established psychological research and validated screening instruments used widely in academic and self-report contexts. However, they are administered online without clinical supervision and cannot replicate the rigour of a professional evaluation.

2. No Diagnosis

Results from our assessments do not constitute a diagnosis of any condition, disorder or illness. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Depression or mood disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
  • Dyslexia or other learning differences
  • Any other mental health or neurodevelopmental condition

A formal diagnosis can only be made by a qualified and registered clinician following a comprehensive assessment. Our results should not be used as evidence of a diagnosis in any medical, legal or occupational context.

3. For Self-Discovery Only

Our assessments are intended to help you better understand your own personality, cognitive tendencies and emotional patterns. They are a starting point for self-reflection — not a definitive statement about your mental health.

Many people find value in understanding their traits, strengths and tendencies through structured self-report tools. We aim to provide clear, informative and thoughtfully written results that support your self-awareness. However, we encourage you to treat all results as one input among many, not as a final verdict.

4. Assessment Methodology

Our assessments are adapted from established, peer-reviewed psychological instruments that are widely used in clinical screening, academic research and self-report contexts. We do not claim to have invented these instruments — we have adapted them for online self-discovery use, with results written to be informative, accessible and personally relevant.

The instruments our assessments are based on include:

  • IQ / Cognitive Ability — A self-report screening quiz using fluid intelligence question formats (matrix reasoning, number sequences, spatial reasoning). Not a standardised psychometric IQ assessment; results are indicative only
  • ADHD Assessment — Adapted from the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS-v1.1), developed in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO)
  • Anxiety Assessment — Adapted from the Generalised Anxiety Disorder scale (GAD-7), developed by Spitzer, Kroenke, Williams & Löwe (2006)
  • Depression Screening — Adapted from the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), developed by Kroenke, Spitzer & Williams (2001)
  • PTSD Screening — Adapted from the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), developed by the US National Center for PTSD
  • Big Five Personality (OCEAN) — Based on the Five Factor Model of personality, a widely replicated framework in personality psychology research
  • Attachment Style — Based on Hazan & Shaver's (1987) adult attachment framework, extended by Bartholomew & Horowitz (1991)
  • Emotional Intelligence — Based on the four-branch model of emotional intelligence developed by Mayer, Salovey & Caruso
  • BPD Screening — Adapted from the McLean Screening Instrument for BPD (MSI-BPD), developed by Zanarini et al. (2003)
  • All other assessments — Developed using established constructs from peer-reviewed psychological literature relevant to each area

Adaptations have been made to improve accessibility, readability and relevance for a general adult audience. These adaptations do not change the underlying constructs being measured but may affect scoring relative to the original clinical instruments. Results should be interpreted as indicative only.

5. Seek Professional Help When Needed

6. Accuracy and Limitations

Self-report assessments are subject to inherent limitations. Results may be affected by how you are feeling on the day, your interpretation of questions, social desirability bias, or other factors. No online assessment can account for the full complexity of an individual's mental health, personality or cognitive profile.

We make no representations or warranties that our assessment results are accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose beyond general self-exploration.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Official Mind Profile, its directors, employees and partners shall not be liable for any loss, harm or damage — direct or indirect — arising from your use of or reliance upon any assessment result, content or information provided on this platform.

By using our services you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclaimer and agree that you take full responsibility for how you interpret and act upon your results.

8. Designed for Adults

Our assessments are designed for adults aged 18 and over. They are not validated for use with children or adolescents and should not be used to assess or draw conclusions about anyone under the age of 18.
